Pantone’s Color of the Year 2024 is Peach Fuzz

Here’s everything you need to know about Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s color of the year.

While many paint brands chose hues of green and blue as their color of the year, Pantone went a completely different route. The famous color brand opted for a gentle peach color called Peach Fuzz (PANTONE 13-1023).

Pantone describes the color as “a cozy and comforting hue nurturing compassion and heartfelt kindness”. The warm shade, between pink and orange, evokes messages of community and collaboration to enrich the mind, body, and soul. It’s a shade that encourages us to feel, heal, and flourish.

The hue is a romantic and clean peach tone that also has a vintage vibe.

To celebrate the announcement, Pantone partnered with Ruggable, Spoonflower, Polaroid, and other brands to release special merchandise inspired by the hue.

They also worked with creators, who incorporated the shade into their work.

  • Tsia Carson created Peach Fuzz-inspired print patterns on textile
  • Bruce Anthony Marshall made a playlist for the Color of the Year 2024 celebration
  • Yiying Lu created three art pieces (dumpling, peacock, milk tea) inspired by the color

Pantone also released some guidelines on how to use the shade.

For apparel and accessories

The tone is naturally inviting, something that people would want to reach out and touch. Because of that, Pantone recommends that the color shines through in suede, velvet, quilt, and furry textures.

For interior design and home decor

Because of its soft, cozy, and inviting nature, it’s easy for Peach Fuzz to be incorporated into the home.

For home interiors, Peach Fuzz works well as a wall color or as an accent color within a pattern.

Hair and beauty

For hair, Peach Fuzz adds an ethereal and reflective touch to flatter a variety of undertones. Meanwhile, the shade also livens up the skin and adds warmth to the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Pair it with earthy browns and deep shades of red and purple—and you can open up a wide variety of colors.

Nail designs using Peach Fuzz can also look romantic and innocent.

Packaging and multimedia design

The arm tactile quality of Peach Fuzz makes it an enticing shade for packaging a variety of products. Yup, from food and beverage to cosmetics, and accessories, it gives off a vibe of delicate scents and tastes.

If you want to amp up your packaging for the new year, consider using Peach Fuzz. As a light and airy hue, it appeals to a wide range of demographics and can be used as a hero or secondary shade to brighten up a design.
