Introducing our best designer for the month of December.

At DotYeti, we’ve helped hundreds of small businesses and startups launch their visual identity. And at the forefront of these creative projects are teams of designers who work to really grasp each brand’s core message and values.

One of those designers is Reymart F., who is December’s Best Designer! He’s a graphic design specialist who has been with Dotyeti for over a year. Here, he works on logo and branding projects as well as static design projects.

Get to know this talented designer below.

Early love for art

Like most of our featured designers, Rey cultivated a love for design at a young age. This artistic curiosity naturally led him to join art competitions at school whenever he could.

In one of his most memorable competitions, he was asked to reimagine Bartok, a character from Disney’s Anastasia. He ended up winning the contest, citing that this was his “first-ever achievement in life in terms of visual arts”.

He started fine-tuning his skills in sketching, and then doodling, before tackling multimedia arts.

Carving his own path

Although his family wanted his artistic interest to lead him to architecture, Rey opted to take a Fine Arts course to explore his talent

Before he joined DotYeti, he was freelancing as a graphic designer. Apart from that, he also had prior experience working for an ad agency that focused on the food and beverage industry.

Keep the spark burning

When the creative spark loses its flame (and for many full-time creatives, we all know this too well), Rey turns to video games and movies to recharge.

Words to live by

If there’s one thing you can take away from this, it’s that Rey F. takes his passion for art seriously. He’s always on the lookout for ways to improve his craft and challenge himself.

In fact, his artistic drive motivates him to be better and design more creatively every day. For Rey, that means taking his logo and branding skills to greater heights. In the future, he wants to pursue other crafts like video editing and animation and explore more innovative forms of branding.

Fun facts about Rey

  • In his spare time: He’s in love with playing video games!
  • How he describes his style: Clean, modern, and minimalist.

In this blog, we introduce DotYeti’s best designer for the month of October.

We’re featuring another stellar creative designer for this month. That is none other than Christopher E.!

He’s in charge of general graphic design projects in his team, but he also occasionally does logo and branding design work, social media posters, website designs, and other projects.

Here, you’ll get to know how he got started in his design career, his hobbies, and his aspirations as an artist.

His design journey

Christopher’s first love in design? He started with illustrations and cartooning, before finally discovering his skill for crafting brand identities in 2019.

He explained that he noticed that he excelled more when it came to branding.

Way before illustration though, Christopher thought he would end up in web design and UI/UX. It was a path to design that he thought would be able to incorporate his undergraduate degree in Information Technology (IT) the most.

There, he took courses on multimedia design, which began his movement into the world of branding and design.

Inspiration is everywhere

You could chalk up his design for logos and branding to his own mettle. But if there’s anywhere he gets inspiration from—it’s the people around him. He says, “Seeing my colleagues’ other designs is where most of my inspiration comes from.”

Apart from this, he also draws inspiration from acclaimed branding names like Paula Scher, who drafted the Citibank logo in a napkin.

You can also catch him browsing on Dribbble and finding his creative spark within their countless designs.

His work ethic

Christopher says working with other visual artists helped him sharpen his craft. Their criticisms and guidance steer his work in a more exciting and unique direction. Before commencing with any project, he likes to find pegs to give his teammates and clients a

As for blending his personal style with clients, he says, ”I always make sure that I prioritize what the clients want before my style,” in a mix of English and Filipino.

Jamming time

In his spare time, Topher usually plays guitar with his cover band. It’s composed of his college friends, the friends of friends, who just vibe with the music, play in a studio, and have a good time.

In times of stress, this is the activity he turns to.

Fun facts about Christopher

In his spare time: He jams with friends to relax.

How he describes his personal style: Minimalist, modern, and simple. He prefers to keep a clean look without overexaggerating details.

The future is 3D

Topher is no stranger to dipping his feet into other forms of design. And for the next five years, he hopes to learn 3D design, which is a growing trend in graphic design.

He believes this could add to his skills and help him boost his career.

In this blog, we introduce DotYeti’s  best designer for the month of October.

If you’ve been on social media lately, you may notice that some brands are starting to use motion graphics for their post. Aside from adding variety, it also brings a certain joie de vivre to their social media feeds.

Curious about how motion designers work? Here’s Adrian A, DotYeti’s Best Designer for October 2023.

He’s been working as a motion graphics designer since 2021. And as for inspirations? He admires the work of Korean animator DK. Get to know him below!

The process

The motion graphics process is more collaborative than you would think. Adrian works frequently with illustrators so they can better discuss and execute the client concept. His work mainly focuses on the production and conceptualizing how they would pull off a certain project.

That includes fixing the sequencing of scenes, how transitions would look, layering, and more!

As for the illustrator, he shares that they are the ones responsible for the overall main look.

Because of the collaborative nature of his work, he likes to build rapport first with his co-artists. He says he does his best to “try to make them feel accommodated when it comes to their ideas and concepts.”

Cool-off

Just like most creatives, he prefers to disconnect himself from work and go ‘off-grid’ when work gets tough. Rejuvenating himself with rest time by taking quick breaks helps him power through creative burnout, especially when he’s working on challenging requests.

What he does on his breaks? He loves gaming and taking a quick nap.

How he got started

As a young student, Adrian did not have a clear direction on what career path he would take growing up. But he said that because of his family’s printing business, he was encouraged to design.

Then from there, he earned his Communications degree with a major in Multimedia Arts. His first role out of university was to design deck presentations for business clients.

Aside from maximizing his design and motion graphics skills, Adrian also wants to build on his skills and become a mentor for a newer generation of artists.

Fun facts about Adrian

In his spare time: He loves playing games like Valorant and Mobile Legends. He also likes solving puzzles, playing chess, and fiddling with a Rubik’s cube.

How he describes his personal style: Rather than fluid motions, he prefers a “super low FTS stop-motion style”.

His favorite project + project highlights

Adrian’s most memorable project is DotYeti’s Demo Reel, which features the key creative projects that DotYeti artists have worked on.

Introducing our best designer for the month of September.

Do artists really get inspired by the things around them? Well, yes. That’s where Shandale S., DotYeti’s Best Designer for September 2023 gets inspiration from every day.

In this blog, we’ll highlight her techniques to continue fostering creativity during an art block, the influence of anime in her artistic journey, and her future goals as an artist.

But first, some introductions.

Shandale has been part of DotYeti’s team for two years now. While she doesn’t have a set role in her team, you can say that she’s the go-to person for:

  • Photo manipulation projects
  • Static design requests
  • Illustration, decks, and e-book

And while creating art and designing for brands is great, it’s sometimes a taxing job to use your creative juices. Here’s how she gets over those difficult moments.

Beauty in everything

“I think the work itself you have to use your creative juices, sometimes you run out of ideas in terms of doing personal art for yourself or the things that you like to create,” she explains.

And let’s be honest. As creatives, haven’t we all experienced this?

Art blocks, writing blocks…we’re all too familiar with how constant creative work can be exhausting.

But Shandale’s solution is simple–almost a no-brainer. And that’s to take inspiration from the things, people, and places around you.

It’s also her advice to younger artists who want to sustain their passion for the industry: “Take inspiration from the things around you because it’s really common to have art block in this industry and take some time off as well if you need to.”

“To appreciate the art around me it helps me to have inspiration again,” she explains.

Old-school throwback

Her artistic interests go back to her childhood, when she and her siblings were exposed to classic 90s anime series like Ghost Fighter, Chobits, and Ranma.

How did she get into art? “It was mostly the influence of my family, my siblings when we were younger…” She added that her sister was the one who initially wanted to draw a lot, “But then I kept going at it and really liked creating art.”

Prior to joining the team, her personal art was also her vehicle for expression. She created artworks that relate to her faith and being a Christian.

An introvert’s dream?

DotYeti’s remote set-up is a ‘perfect environment’ for introverted Shandale. There were some challenges at first though, especially with communication.

Now though, she has adjusted well to the set-up, explaining that at first, she would ask a lot of questions about the design brief and what the client wants.

She stresses the importance of communicating well, saying that “sometimes the idea doesn’t stick if it’s not properly communicated.”

Plans for the future

Like any creative, Shandale enjoys artistic challenges that drive her to expand her skills. While she currently finds that in some photo manipulation projects, she also wants to dabble in other things too.

“I want to explore working with 3D elements, UI/UX designing, and exploring more on my personal art.”

Fun facts about Shandale

In her spare time: She likes spending it with her family, going outside, and spending time away from her laptop.

How she describes her style: “I think I prefer to use textures to bring out life into the works I create. I also like symmetry and cleanliness but I sometimes can work with illustrations that can be cluttered.”

Her favorite project + project highlights

She says that her photo manipulation project for Flawless Moissonite has been a standout in her career in DotYeti.

Introducing our best designer for the month of August.

When you need a digital designer, who are you going to call? You should hit up Carlos M., DotYeti’s Best Designer for August 2023.

In this blog, we’ll highlight his journey to becoming a designer, his personal approach toward creative projects, and his advice for up-and-coming artists.

But first, a little rewind.

This is Carlos, he joined DotYeti back in March 2021. He handles a variety of projects as a Speedy Yeti, executing projects related to graphic design (like digital ads, social media posts, and posters), photo manipulation, as well as logo and branding.

But that’s not really what Carlos thought he would be doing as a career, he said.

A creative journey

Because of his love for video games, he initially thought he would end up as a concept artist.

A creative mind ever since, he shares how, when he was younger, he would illustrate Pokemons at the back of his notebook. That’s not all though, he also created a game he played with his siblings, using their imagination to think of unique attack combos!

Carlos then attended university, majoring in Multimedia Arts, which was focused on filmmaking.

Somewhere along the way, he got into graphic design. And from there, he got the idea to start posting posters once a day, which you can check here

Learning from YouTube?

“My style is more focused on expressive typography or custom types.”

And as you can see from his personal platform, he does have a penchant for stretching out letters and also pushing the boundaries of traditional type.

But where he got this personal style might surprise you.

Carlos says that he draws inspiration from artists on YouTube, who taught him valuable Photoshop and photo editing skills.

He cites Chris Do’s The Futur Youtube channel as one of his inspirations. Carlos says “he’s like the best mentor I never had”. And whatever digital skills school did not teach him, he learned online.

He even says that his current skill set has been “largely shaped by Youtube.”’

Apart from Youtube, he enjoys discovering new artists through Instagram and other social media sites.

Words of wisdom

For Carlos, there’s no such thing as a creative box. “Ang sinasabi ko sa sarili ko wag mong isiksik yung sarili mo sa isang skill lang, parang more on develop more skills.”

(I tell myself that I shouldn’t confine myself to one skill only, and develop other skills.)

In fact, he wants to play around with 3D art, video editing, branding, logos–and not just photo manipulation or layout. After all, it was when he was in DotYeti where he first tried his hand at doing branding projects.

His advice to other artists? Constantly seek out references or designers whose creations resonate with your own. He also encourages designers to “dig deep while solving the needs of the clients.”

That is, don’t suppress their personal style for anyone!

His favorite project

Take this project he did for DeFiStruct as an example. Drawing from his passion to create worlds and build stories out of images, he was inspired to create this web illustration from scratch.

Take a closer look, and you’ll see that this illustration has more stories to tell than meets the eye.

It also tells you a lot about Carlos’ modern style, calculated use of elements, and mastery of photo manipulation.

Fun facts about Carlos

In his spare time: He plays Diablo 4, watches sports, and binges shows like Breaking Bad and crime dramas.

How he describes his style: Modern and trendy.

Project highlights from Carlos M.

In this blog, 14 creative leaders discuss the importance of graphic design as they serve as our front liners in saving businesses.

Initially, when we think of essential services, we immediately think of healthcare, food &  beverage, as well as transportation & logistics among others. But other industries were also crucial in keeping everybody afloat.

And the aid brought by graphic design and other creative services does not limit itself to businesses, too. Let’s recount how these fourteen amazing creatives from all over the world helped people through their art and creativity:

1. “The client was able to not only retain his existing staff but also hired extra drivers, and helped keep vulnerable people safe.”

Melissa Montang, Australia

Melissa is currently the Head of Marketing and Communications at Businessary, a business advisory and digital marketing company in Australia.

Having strong imagery and engaging copy that resonates with your ideal audience is absolutely necessary. My prediction is that we’ll also see the trend continue of using graphic design and creative opportunities to communicate the purpose, values, and even sometimes political views of businesses.

One client was previously a catering company, which obviously came to a complete halt during the pandemic. He quickly pivoted to being a market-fresh grocery delivery business—using the same fresh fruit and veg, butcher, and bakery suppliers that he had cultivated for his catering business.

He was able to offer safe, convenient, and high-quality grocery delivery boxes. We helped to quickly create a new brand, website and social media campaigns to drive the growth of the business

The client was able to not only retain his existing staff but also hired extra drivers and helped keep vulnerable people safe by bringing groceries to their door so they wouldn’t have to go out into busy shopping centres.

It was a wonderful service, and I can attest as one of their regular customers! Truly everyone involved in the service from beginning to end benefitted: the suppliers, the client, and his team, the drivers, the customers and, I would argue, the whole community. Then when things started opening up again, the client landed a huge catering account and was able to go back to doing what he truly loved.”

2. “Our company developed a comprehensive web app for doctors to help them with their everyday clinic operations, so they can focus on what they do best—treating their patients.”

Kier Labrador, Philippines

Kier founded Neitiviti Studios—a multimedia design company that creates modern web and mobile apps.

“Even though we’re not doctors or nurses, we as creatives did our fair share of saving lives through informative designs or infographics that helped distribute clear and accurate information on pandemic preparedness… and that’s something to be proud of in this business.

In our first months, I personally offered free design services to small businesses that are most affected by this pandemic. It made me feel how important our work is as artists and designers especially in extending assistance to those who are starting or transitioning their businesses online to stay afloat.

And in an effort to contribute to the healthcare industry, our company developed a comprehensive web app for doctors to help them with their everyday clinic operations, so they can focus on what they do best—treating their patients. We launched the app last April for free and it’s called Elena – Your Clinic Assistant.”

3. “I noticed many people don’t know if they want vaccines or not, so many companies create vaccination campaigns… I myself am creating awareness templates and videos.”

Subhajit Das, India

Subhajit is the artist behind @subhosketchbook on Instagram; an art page that features nostalgic illustrations. He works as a graphic designer at Shyam Future Tech.

“I love to help people with my skills if they have any issues with design and illustration. I saw some people, especially teenagers, always posting that they feel bored and lockdown made their life worse. So I thought they could release their stress through art so I started to influence them through my art on social media platforms like Instagram.

Subhajit’s Work

Some of them took an interest in art and some found their childhood memories. One thing I learned from my followers is to never lose hope and never compare someone to others. We just need to appreciate people so that they can make progress.“Also, I noticed many people don’t know if they want vaccines or not, so many companies create vaccination campaigns. I myself as a graphic designer am creating awareness templates and videos.

And graphic designers play an important role because they have to make them attractive and understandable with simple communicative design for people to convey awareness. I also saw some infographics and doodle videos on social platforms teaching how we can fight corona and handle the pandemic situation.”

4. “Graphic design was an integral part to defeating the pandemic by filtering an insane amount of jargon, unfamiliar by most; into easily digestible and concise forms of graphic material.”

Emilly Barrow, Australia

Emilly runs a small freelance graphic design business specializing in refined, minimal solutions. Based in Melbourne, Australia; her services include branding identity, business touchpoints, graphic design, marketing collateral, and website design.

“During the start of the pandemic, there was mass panic and confusion from the public. The virus frightened the people. And the Hollywood horror movies that depicted these events suddenly became a whole lot more realistic.

Graphic design was an integral part of defeating the pandemic by filtering an insane amount of jargon, unfamiliar by most; into easily digestible and concise forms of graphic material (especially that of social media posts) that could be understood by the majority of the public.

They did this rapidly, and consistently throughout Australia to ensure unity and guidance within our country. It was critical graphic designers understood what to communicate and what not to communicate—a fine line between misguidance and causing confusion

Long regarded as a ‘non-essential’ discipline, I truly hope that graphic design becomes more recognized for its critical nature. Graphic design creates a unified language to help us understand more deeply and more critically.

I found my clients in 2020 to be a unique breed of people. They were willing to try new things; open-minded and despite the pessimistic state of the economy—were excited to be diving into passions.”

5. “Axel Scheffler illustrated an informative picture book explaining Covid in a simple, friendly way to children.”

Georgie Birkett, United Kingdom

Georgie is a children’s book illustrator and author. Her works include Teddy Bedtime, the How to… series with co-author Jane Clarke, and more. Check out Georgie’s Instagram page to see more of her illustrations.

“Children’s books bring all sorts of positive messages to children, to boost their confidence and self-esteem during uncertain times, and they provide magical places for the imagination to escape to during lockdown

I know that Axel Scheffler illustrated an informative picture book explaining Covid in a simple, friendly way to children. Creativity is one thing a computer cannot replace, people are naturally creative, and thrive with the arts and creativity around them, in whatever form.

During the pandemic, Instagram has remained an active and supportive place to share work and enjoy other people’s work, and also share feelings about pandemic life.

Many artists including me took part in The Bookmark Project, making bookmarks for an auction to help a school in Africa. Instagram has many prompts in which artists promote and share work on a theme through a hashtag.

I have gained a lot of interest from publishing editors in this way, and occasionally I am tagged in a post in which someone has been enjoying my book, which is really lovely.”

6. “Graphic design is a visual representation of every culture of every generation from Politics, Religion, Art, Fashion and Entertainment, Events, etc.”

Ferdinand Onandia, United States

Ferdinand is a graphic designer currently working at the Jesus Film Project. He’s also the founder and creative director of Endure Apparel.

“As a graphic designer for CRU or the Jesus Film Project, I can only hope that I’ve made an impact. The way we measure impact in our industry is based on knowing how many people have accepted and committed their lives to Christ

That could be someone who just watched the JESUS Film online or maybe someone making a donation after receiving some informational brochure that I’ve designed, or maybe someone responding to a Facebook ad.

ferdinand onandia infographics

Ferdinand’s Work

I do know that people’s lives have been changed because of the work that I’m part of. It’s always a collective effort and not just from one person. I believe there’s always gonna be a demand for graphic designers, almost every industry needs it. If you have the passion for it, you can never go wrong choosing this career.”

7. “The efficacy of an infographic is largely determined by its quality. We frequently judge the authority and legitimacy behind the infographic and how reliable the data is based on how it appears.”

Candice Tiongson, Philippines

Candice is a graphic designer turned email marketing specialist at Future Holidays; a creative-led firm specializing in helping companies build a lasting impression through smart design and engaging digital experiences.

“Graphic design has become a massively powerful means of communication in the ongoing war against COVID-19, becoming an unanticipated but successful weapon; with striking infographics capable of dispensing complex messages to the masses in a clear and convincing manner.

As an email marketing specialist, I work with email automation software, designing and sending out email blasts, newsletters, and more.

I think designing for a digital audience is so impactful because you can measure it. For emails, you can record open rates, unsubscribe and bounce rates, CTR, and delivery rates. This provides you with a greater comprehension of how your campaigns are working, and which ones to change or which ones to dispose of.

In this digital era, data doesn’t lie and it’s the number one thing you can rely on and base your actions on. So pandemic or not, the creative industry is the future.

With that said, I hope that these businesses recognize the value of quality design and branding and will enlist the help of a designer or web expert to help them cater to and distribute these messages.”

8. “Most of everything I come across is design in the form of news.”

Mayur Chettiar, India

Mayur is the founder of Kaamyup, a multi-faceted freelancing app.

“I don’t read news on news sites anymore, because most of everything I come across is designed in the form of news. This change was inevitable with so many people joining the community of graphic design within such a short period of time.

It would be safe to say that the designs we see are the new-age version of the comics we used to see. I encourage a different type of thinking, where people can look at the other side of the story and react on both the situation.

When the shweta meme exploded and people were busy making shweta feel stupid, I made a post asking people to look at the other side. That post reached 300K people in Explore, I think.

I think, in the next 10 years into the future, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are going to be a big hit and every other artist would be creating their own NFT, and that’s a good thing for the Art and Design Community.

No longer would people consider Arts as an Industry with no ROI and parents will start supporting their kids more. I believe the wave after covid would be the wave of the artists, and we would finally be able to pursue our dreams and not be afraid to like what we want.”

9. “When it came to Covid, many brands and marketers used [graphic design] tactics to relay important information about education, fundraising, news, and more so that people could get important information and updates quickly.”

Lindsay O’Donnell, Canada

Lindsay is the founder and marketing director of Piquant Marketing. A Vancouver-based company that provides marketing campaigns to local food businesses.

“Graphic design helps us create shareable, engageable content and also allows us to combine different mediums (photography, design, animation, etc). When it came to covid, many brands and marketers use these tactics to relay important information about education, fundraising, news, and more so that people could get important information and updates quickly.

I work with food so I saw a stark divide immediately. Food brands that were in grocery stores were suddenly very busy while food brands that had their own cafes or storefronts were at a standstill.

Everyone was moving online to support and connect. I was here to help them connect with their community and keep their business growing or stabilized. We focused on digital content, digital selling, and stabilizing their revenue streams.

For the last ten years, I’ve seen the marketing industry REALLY specialize. Now you can be a social media marketer, a social ads marketer, a copywriter… I even have one graphic design person just for social graphics.

I expect marketers to continue to grow in demand as we move more virtually every day with so many new ways to entertain, educate, and sell.”

10. “Design, layout, and typography, besides the written content, have a strong influence to bring over a message in any kind of desired way.”

Roy Selbach, Netherlands

Roy is the CEO & Founder of DotYeti as well as the CEO and Co-Founder of EOI Digital.

Here’s what he has to say: “Bringing over difficult information doesn’t have to be hard.”

Design, layout, and typography, besides the written content, have a strong influence to bring over a message in any kind of desired way. You can see that during this time, trust, reliability, and engagement are important aspects to bring over a serious message in the right way.

The creative industry has always been very dynamic and adaptable. The most beautiful thing about the creative industry is that no matter what new medium will arise, there’s always a need for beautifully designed work.”

11. “Without designers, people would need to read bland signs with walls of text. And we were already maxed out on all the emotional scales so, easy-access was—and has been—key for a while now.”

Megan Scanio, United States

Megan is a self-taught graphic designer. She is the owner and lead designer of Millie Paper Co. They offer custom illustrations and vector graphics.

“The use of graphics during the pandemic has helped relay info to the public so effortlessly, so that’s made it so essential.

Something as simple as a picture of a mask on the door of a store or business was enough to let people know that ‘hey, you need a mask to come in here.’ And that’s kind of amazing!

Without designers, people would need to read bland signs with walls of text. And we were already maxed out on all the emotional scales so, easy access was—and has been—key for a while now.

This field seems to be ever-changing, which is amazing, but so hard to keep up with at the same time. It’s so awesome to see how illustrations and graphic designs have become normal.”

I think going forward, the Arial bold, plain black, typed printout from Microsoft Word isn’t going to cut it. Especially when it comes to something as simple as a message on the door of any business (I mean, thank goodness right, lol).

I’d like to think that at the very least my art has served as an escape from the could-be-dreary every day. I tried to draw things that would spark joy in people. So if their day was hard, they could see an avocado with a happy little face. And it would cause a bit of happiness, no matter how fleeting that moment might be

Life has been so hard this past year. And knowing that I could do something to bring joy to people has been pretty amazing.”

12. “People have been bored for long periods of time. So it has been great to fill that void and get out as much content as possible.”

Alex Vella, Australia

Alex is the marketing manager of Tradesmate Sports, a betting software, and Oddshero, a betting tool. He’s also the podcast host of the Trademate Sports Betting Podcast.

“We found people really engaged with our graphic design through [the lockdown]. Probably because they weren’t getting much engagement from elsewhere!

Throughout the pandemic, I have made a lot of connections that wouldn’t have occurred if the world was in its ‘normal’ state. People are looking for interactivity online and I’ve never messaged this many strangers in my life!

People have been bored for long periods of time. So it has been great to fill that void and get out as much content as possible.

As more and more people work from home, they are forced to create by themselves and not with their colleagues in an office. So I think this will force people to express themselves on more of an individual basis. And we will start to see more rogue ideas in the industry.”

13. “Even non-designers started to learn and appreciate the effect of visual representations.”

Anelle Silerio, Philippines

Anelle is a creative entrepreneur. She is the founder and creative director of Illustrados Creatives. A company that builds creative solutions through IT, Digital Design, Marketing, and Content Creation.

“As we spend more time indoors, we rely on getting global news and obtaining information on the internet and other forms of media

Graphic Design helps the front liners present the essential information clearly and understandably. Although some of them convey different emotions to people due to cultural differences.

But what strikes me the most is that even non-designers started to learn and appreciate the effect of visual representations. They contribute a lot when it comes to spreading truthful content and genuine positivity.”

14. “Graphic design is a powerful way to bring positivity during a pandemic.”

Ezra Acebron, Philippines

Ezra is the head of operations at DotYeti.

“I’ve been working home-based for four years and I know what it’s like to isolate yourself from the world…although it’s different now since the pandemic.”

Graphic design is a powerful way to bring positivity during a pandemic.

The importance of strategic-thinking creatives has exploded as clients realize that creativity isn’t just about what something looks like. It’s about usability, purpose, and functionality.

“Graphic design emphasizes and lets you digest the facts easily through infographics,” says Ezra.

If you’ve been around long enough the web scoping for the perfect graphic design online platform, then you may have stumbled upon Design Pickle. They’ve essentially been pioneers in the online unlimited design industry. But while they’ve certainly made a name for themselves, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’d have everything that you’re looking for in a design service. That is why thousands of people have been searching online for Design Pickle alternatives that can handle their creative work.

As more and more businesses are looking to go digital, it is important to consider all options to create quality creative content. And if Design Pickle just doesn’t seem like the perfect fit for you, here are 6 alternatives that you can consider for your design plan.

Table of Contents

1. How Design Pickle Works

2. Design Pickle Alternatives: Unlimited Design Service

3. What is your best bet for your graphic design work in 2023?

How Design Pickle Works

Design Pickle

If you haven’t subscribed to them yet, here’s how Design Pickle gets the job done for you. The website offers graphic design in subscription packages for flat monthly fees. These can be billed monthly or annually. Each package is supposed to cater to your design needs. The selling feature of Design Pickle’s system is that it provides a service where you can simply put out a request and it will be taken care of for you without going through the trouble of looking for design work.

Pickle Points: Advantages of Design Pickle

1. Nature of the Service

This kind of setup isn’t something that conventional services provide. At an agency, things run a lot more complicated. When you submit a project, there’s a long onboarding process, contract signing, and so much more extra corporate “flair” that you go through. Oh, and that’s probably why they could cost more.

Hiring a full-time or a freelancer costs less financially but could waste time. As you may already know, finding an employee takes a while. And for big projects, having one person is a bit much.

Unlimited design subscription services like Design Pickle are the alternative to these options. You can put in unlimited requests with unlimited revisions for a flat fee.

2. Graphic Design Packages

Design Pickle’s packages cater to specific needs. These packages are:

  • Essentials
  • Custom Illustrations; and
  • Pro

They come with a transparent list of what is offered in each package and have suggestions describing each one. The prices are fair considering the services offered for them.

Okay, Here’s the Dill: Disadvantages of Design Pickle

1. The Reviews

This read wouldn’t exist if everything about Design Pickle worked just fine. Of course, not all services are perfect and some customers receive different experiences with them. Much of the disadvantages listed in this section are things that reviewers online have also experienced in their time with the service.

2. Limited Services

Design pickle gives the impression that they do it all. Well, not exactly. It doesn’t offer UI/UX, mobile or app design, and video graphics. If these are services that you’re looking for as well, then you won’t find it here.

3. Limited Communication (in two packages)

Being able to contact the design team in real-time is simply not possible unless you’re on the Pro plan. Communication is limited to the platform itself in the other more affordable packages. This could lead to misunderstandings and it means you’d have to be very specific in the email about

4. Problematic User Interface

When customers log in to the website after subscribing, some have expressed a slow performance in handing in requests and overall communication in the website’s interface. For a service that has speed and convenience as the pillars of their selling point, this nuisance can really cost them some potential clients and leave an overall average experience.

Design Pickle Alternatives: Top 6 Unlimited Design Services

DigiFloat

DigiFloat is a relatively new agency that started its unlimited design services in 2019. Much like Penji, they have also found a service that Design Pickle has yet to offer: UI/UX. But as a team of creatives, they’ve also stepped their game up by offering content services as well.

Digifloat

Design Pickle vs. DigiFloat

Design Packages – DigiFloat has also gone with the standard three options. The difference again is in price. This time, this service made their most affordable package $50 less expensive compared to the pickle. Also included in their packages are WordPress work and Web/App Development.

Transparency – DigiFloat isn’t banking on a promise of a 48-hour turnaround time. As a team that is most likely relatively smaller than the pickle, they’re probably not going to be able to handle an influx of requests that need things now. Instead, this service included a breakdown of estimates of how long design for certain projects can take.

Why DigiFloat?

If you don’t actually need an overwhelming amount of design on your plate and are probably still starting out, this is an alright service to try out. Their most affordable monthly rate is the cheapest one out there so you can save on costs there. And if you’re not the best at writing, you can also find it here.

Kimp

Kimp is a good example of an unlimited design service with personality. The service’s package is also different with the pickle price format.

Kimp

Design Pickle vs. Kimp

Design Packages – Kimp deviated itself with the design packages it offers by highlighting two design focuses: graphic design and video editing. Graphic design and Video are two different packages. For you to have both services, you’d have to acquire what is essentially their “complete” package.

Specialization – Separating the two services, which are arguably the most requested in the unlimited design realm, can be quite an advantage in terms of saving costs. If graphic design is all you need, you wouldn’t be paying extra for the services offered that you won’t use anyway.

Why Kimp?

Kimp has obviously done their market research and found that it was best to separate the two services. If you want a service that will solely provide you with graphics or video, then you may be interested in trying out these packages. Having both is a little bit pricier, but does promise a lot of features and is less expensive than the pickle’s Pro plan.

DotYeti

DotYeti is an unlimited design service that is focused on the foundation of great design: creativity. As one of the fastest-growing design platforms that started this 2020, this service has already worked with big companies and over a hundred businesses. Quality plus efficiency is the formula that this service has figured out compared to services like the pickle.

Design Pickle vs. DotYeti

Design Packages – DotYeti has three packages that are loaded with services that make it worth your subscription. Every package shows you exactly what services you can request. The highest-priced package is known as the Royal Package where you are guaranteed your very own design team at an affordable price.

Creativity – Just like other subscription services like the pickle, you’ll find that DotYeti also guarantees satisfaction, fast turnarounds, and affordable prices compared to other options. But if there’s anything that the yeti shows you from the get-go, it’s that quality of work matters a whole lot to the service as well. Simple creative designs that spark joy is what DotYeti specializes in.

Collaborative – DotYeti lets you know in their packages just how many designers will be working with you. Unlike other services that give you the impression that robots are working on your design, DotYeti provides a human element to the process. This is what makes the service’s graphic design at quality standards while still making it in the 1-2 day deadlines ninety percent of the time.

Why DotYeti?

Providing an excellent DotYeti experience is on the top of the reasons why the growth of this service is massive at a short span of time. If you want quality work done at a reasonable turnaround rate, this is the platform for you. You get to work with creatives that understand your vision or can help you with forming it. So whether you’re a well-established business or one that’s only starting out, DotYeti can handle exactly what you’re looking for. Plus, a company with its own creative branding can tell you a lot about what they can do to make yours stand out as well.

Check out the portfolio to see some of the best work that the service can very well provide for you.

Flocksy

Flocksy is an all-around online creative service that has a different structure to offer. Essentially, you can build your own team based on the creative work you need, so unlimited design is not all they offer. They also have unlimited web development, unlimited copywriting, and unlimited video. This personalization is the selling feature of Flocksy is unique to its platform.

Flocksy

Design Pickle vs. Flocksy

Design Packages – Unlike Design Pickle and frankly most subscription websites, they only have two packages to choose from ranging from $420-$999 a month. Included in the packages are full-on content creation services not limited to design. The two packages target large companies and businesses.

Offers – The Flocksy package is not limited to graphic design, which could be a good thing if multiple services are what you’re after. Plus, they guarantee a 24-hour turnaround time for their offered services.

Why Flocksy?

With so much to offer in one package and a short turnaround time guaranteed, you may want to manage your expectations when it comes to the quality of work. But again, if that is not a priority and what matters to your business is quick work with a wide range of offers, then this is the platform you may be interested in.

Kappa99

Kappa99 is the go-to for simple projects at a fixed rate. Compared to the pickle, this platform is relatively small. The team is also small in numbers so expect that there will be limitations to their work. But if 4-6 projects a month is all you need to be done in a month, then it wouldn’t be much of an issue.

Kappa99 / Design Pickle Alternative

Design Pickle vs. Kappa99

Design Package – With only one package, Kappa99 is not a multitasker when it comes to design. You can request more than one project, but they adhere to a queue-up system so you can’t expect multiple projects at a time

Why Kappa99?

There’s not much that Kappa99 can provide that the pickle or other platforms already have other than being an available alternative. If you like working with small companies perhaps, then this service is the way to go.

ManyPixels

ManyPixels is an unlimited graphic design service with an eye for sleek and professional design. Their relatively large and diverse team promises world-class service for businesses across the globe.

ManyPixels

Design Pickle vs. ManyPixels

Design Package – ManyPixels has two available packages: Basic and Premium. They don’t have detailed service descriptions, which can leave you to wonder what it is that they can actually do for you. But in terms of price points they match that of the pickle at basic and provide a more affordable pro package.

Realistic Marketing – Any good professional designer knows that same-day edits may not be of the highest quality, and ManyPixels is certainly one of those companies that don’t promise high quality for a short period of time. They’re transparent about timelines being adjustable relative to the complexity of the design project.

Why ManyPixels?

If customer service is very important to you, then this service promises top-notch communication. They keep the customer-first policy up in their set of company values.

What is your best bet for your graphic design work in 2023?

The year 2023 will definitely start the new era of digital advertising. And while speed and consistency are priorities to constantly bring out great content, quality work is something that a lot more people will gravitate towards. Campaigns thrive better when creativity comes in the mix of things.

Design Pickle Alternative

If you’re gravitating towards better results at manageable speeds, then the best-unlimited design service is DotYeti. As a business that has skyrocketed businesses with quality creative content at amazing speeds, you will be working with experts that harness pure creativity and turn your projects into effective marketing collaterals.

While the platform may be fairly new, it has already found success with over a hundred clients in less than a year. This makes it one of the fastest-growing unlimited design subscription services out there. Take a chance this year by investing in quality creative work at affordable prices. He lost his hearing at a young age; which only encouraged him further to pursue visual arts as a career.

His knowledge in design stems from years of experience and his passion for communication and self-expression.

One of the websites he designed is for a marketing agency EOI Digital. He has also worked with local brand giants like Jollibee and Greenwich as well as other international clients through his work in DotYeti.

  • Finalizing and preparing your design: What to look out for when it’s time to export a layer with the image, text, background, and logo.
  • Syncing to InVision: Steps to follow when syncing your artboard to InVision.
  • Introduction to InVision: InVision is used to create prototypes of responsive designs for desktops, mobile apps, and iPads.

Curious about how to hire the best design team?

A successful company needs a team of diverse individuals with skills that complement each other—and a design team is crucial to a business’s success

That’s because designers ensure that your brand is represented in the best possible way. In addition, they are instrumental in coming up with new creative ideas that you may not have thought of on your own.

Fast forward to the hiring process, what do you look for in a design team? In this article, we’ve gathered some insights from DotYeti’s HR department

The Yetis behind DotYeti’s Creative Empire

Meet Marc Bernardino and Kris Tolentino, the talented duo who are beyond experienced when it comes to assembling efficient design teams.

hiring a design team

About Marc: The Human Resource Manager

Marc is a psychology graduate from the Philippines and is currently finishing his master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at De La Salle University.

In total, his experience in the HR industry spans 5 years. He is constantly attending webinars and training to ensure that he is always on the right track in HR processes.

At DotYeti, his responsibilities include recruitment, compensation and benefits discussion, training, and organizational development. His work is to build cooperation between the workforce and the management to be able to achieve a common goal.

About Kris: The Human Resource Specialist

Kris is a Human Resource Specialist from the Philippines and she has been working in the industry for 4 years. DotYeti was able to accommodate her working needs by offering her a work-from-home setup.

Engaging and communicating with other people is a job that demands one’s skills to be always relevant. So to stay up to date with her field, she watches HR-related educational videos online and maximizes free resources from online courses like Coursera and LinkedIn.

Her tasks as an HR specialist are to source, schedule, and interview potential candidates. She is also involved in the assessments of candidates, updating job descriptions, and onboarding new workers.

Hiring the Perfect Design Team

If you want to know how to hire the best design team, it’s all in evaluating potential candidates. According to Kris and Marc, here’s what they do to keep our graphic design agency populated with awesome designers:

The Recruitment Process

  • Sourcing
  • Invitation for initial interview
  • Initial Interview
  • Assessment
  • Second-level interview (for higher positions)
  • Final Interview
  • Draft Offer
  • Decision
  • Final Offer

Qualities to look for in Candidates

  • Resumes and portfolios are updated, organized, and exhibit design prowess
  • Candidate’s values should align with DotYeti’s values
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good attitude towards work
  • Flawless reports from references
  • Should be dependable in times of need
  • Trustworthy
  • Possesses integrity

Red Flags to avoid

  • Several full-time commitments
  • A history of job-hopping
  • Negative attitude towards criticism
  • Inability to define a timeline

Keeping a Healthy Environment for Yetis

Creatives are a tricky bunch to deal with. But if you approach them the right way, they’ll be completely immersed in their creative element

The key is to respect their individual quirks and not only see them as a piece of the process because without it, we’re all at a loss. Here are some food for thought from Marc:

“HR is a very challenging field to explore. Here, you have the opportunity to create a more diverse and equitable workplace for everyone.

On the other hand, most employees see HR people as someone who only cares about the management, but that’s not true. HR is always keeping the equilibrium in the workplace

Even though we have a strong understanding of the organization’s priorities and challenges, we always make sure that the employees are also taken into consideration at every step of the way.

Always remember that HR has a big impact on the professional development of the employees. It is a rewarding opportunity to improve the organization as a whole and the individual employees I work with.”
